Brave voices on the airwaves

CECRET Visayas Inc., short for Communicators for Emergency and Calamity Radio Engaged Team, is a volunteer radio group based in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

For fifteen years our members have given their time, their radios and their courage to keep communications open when the Visayas needs them most: typhoons and calamities, religious processions, the Sinulog festival, and the everyday work of helping neighbours. We are part of the wider CECRET Philippines — Combined Escort Communication Respond for Emergency Team family.

Our mission on every band

Communication, coordination, preparedness, service and teamwork are the five things we bring to every deployment.

Emergency Communications

When typhoons, earthquakes and floods knock out power and cell sites, our radio operators keep messages moving between responders, barangays and command posts.

Event & Crowd Support

Radio teams posted along routes and venues for major Cebu events such as the Sinulog festival, relaying reports to organisers and safety marshals in real time.

Escort & Convoy Comms

Mobile radio coverage for escorts, processions and convoys, keeping lead, middle and tail units in constant contact.

Inter-Agency Coordination

Working alongside fellow volunteer radio groups, rescue units and local government offices on shared frequencies and joint briefings.

Training & Preparedness

Net discipline, message handling, radio checks and route briefings so every member is ready before the call comes.

Brotherhood & Service

Eyeball meetings, fellowship nights and anniversaries keep the team close, because a team that knows each other works better under pressure.
